Hi, my name is Wendy. I’m a wife, mom of 2 girls (10 and 15), and computer programmer/DBA. I’ve been playing around with the idea of starting a blog for a little while now, as a place for me to store my projects and document the techniques that I used to create them.
I started paper crafting about 13 years ago. I had experienced a dark time in my life, and paper crafting helped me cope with all of that. It didn’t last for very long though. My husband likes to say that for several years my hobby was scrapbook supply collecting. It was always fun for me to think up ideas in my head, and I would buy the supplies to make the projects, but never really worked on anything. I guess you could say it was shopping therapy. Some ladies buy purses and shoes, but I like paper crafting supplies and funny t-shirts.
I gradually got back into scrapbooking and discovered paper piecing. I watched some videos on it and did some research on the machines. I bought my first Pazzles cutter – the Mini and eventually the Vue. I love my Pazzle because I can make and cut anything! I can find any picture online and turn it into a cutting file.
Besides scrapbookng, I’ve just started making cards. I happened across a website that collects cards for kids in hospitals – #cardsforhospitalizedkids. I haven’t donated any cards yet, but I’ve been practicing new techniques and lots of interactive card making dies through various challenges. My favorite is Lawn Fawn. They have awesome dies to make pop-up cards, peek-a-boo cards, shadow box cards, and tons more. I’ve been doing their bi-weekly challenges to buy new card making toys and practice.
My hope, is to post my projects on this blog and document what dies, cutting files and techniques I used to make the them. Thank you for visiting!
