Everyone is getting for Christmas right now, even the forest critters! At least that’s what I like to imagine happening. This adorable little card was made using a combination of Lawn Fawn, Waffle Flower, Pazzles and Miss Kate’s Cuttables. The base of the card was cut using the awesome Lawn Fawn Scalloped Box Card Pop-Up. I just love using this card base because it allows me to decorate every surface of the card and add as much dimension as I want. I decorated the outside of the card with some beautiful paper that I found in my holiday stash. The little reindeer with the ornaments hanging from his antlers is from Pazzles. Isn’t he cute?
The inside of the box card has so many fun dimensions. The sentiment on the front flap is from the Waffle Flower Pull Tab Tree bundle. I’m very new to card making, so I’ve been concentrating on buying my interactive card elements right now, but I must say that at this small of a size, stamping the sentiment is so much easier than trying to cut it out of paper. I may need to mix more sentiments into my orders. The sentiment, by itself, looked a little too plain, so I added little holly leaves and berries to give it more interest, and I added kaleidoscope embossing powder to give it some rainbow shimmer.
The little critters are busy decorating the forest for Christmas. The snowman is getting ready to hang lights on the tree. The sweet penguin is bringing a gift to his friend, the reindeer. The little bird perched on the string of lights is waiting to put the star on top of the tree. The tree sits in front of a snowy background created using the Lawn Fawn Snowy Backdrop die. This is such a sweet little scene and I had so much fun creating it!
I turned the cute little box to both sides so you can see the dimension of the card. There are 2 inserts in the center of the box to give the scene depth and more interest. I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Borders and sparkly paper to create a snowy ground for the forest scene. The little animals are placed on these different inserts. On each of the side flaps, I added an additional little critter, because, why not? All of these little critters are from Miss Kate’s Cuttables. I just love her cutting files!
I’m entering this card into a couple of challenges:
